Account Representative

May - August 2022 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I loved that this was a client-based role. I was working hands-on with 400+ clients throughout my time under the Uber Eats sector. It was a very valuable experience for me because I got to know the ins and outs the fast paced sales cycle.

What I wish was different

The only thing I wish was different was having more networking throughout my experience. I got to listen to a few senior level executives, but wish there was an opportunity to look at various sections and roles under the Uber title.

Advice

I think the best advice is to throw yourself out of your comfort zone. This was the first experience I had working in a client-based role and wish I wouldn’t have been so hesitant first starting. Once I got comfortable and in the groove of everything, I truly succeeded in the position and it helped me to gain so much confidence within the role.

Uber diver

April 2018 • Phoenix, AZ

What I liked

I am able to begin and end my shift at any time on any day, I can take off as many days as I like, no minimum hours are required, and I usually earn between $15-$20 an hour to sit on my butt, drive around and talk to people about whatever we please.

What I wish was different

The only benefits it offers are roadside assistance and discounted car maintenance. They will cover tuition for ASU Online but only for very highly rated and experienced drivers.

Advice

Driving for Uber is an easy, relaxing and often fun job but it wont do much towards furthering your hopes/plans for a future career. However, being friendly and talking to people is a great way to make new connections and expand your network. And keep your car in good shape!
