I loved this internship, because it allowed me to do something that I love which is humanitarian work. Through this internship, I learned several things about the ongoing issues in Ethiopia that relate to migration. These topics can range from smuggling/trafficking to the spread of diseases in refugee camps. I loved how each assignment I was asked to do relates to my interest in what I want to do in my future career
What I wish was different
I wish I would've had more field work to do. I never got the chance to go see the refugee camps, and actually gain hands on experience. I was usually behind a desk working on grant proposals and facilitating progress reports.
Advice
One piece of advice is that you should be able to read for long periods of time. As there are many documents that you will need to read regarding what projects are going on in the office.
