Qualified Craft Worker (HVACR)

The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Property and Facilities Services, seeks a qualified individual for the position of Qualified Craft Worker (HVACR) at their Region 2 office in East Lyme.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • First shift, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
  • Monday - Friday
  • Office/On-site
  • Location: East Lyme, CT

THE ROLE:

The Qualified Craft Worker will perform various HVACR services, including routine preventative repair and emergency maintenance in multiple facilities and new HVAC installation work needed in any of our statewide facilities. 

The Qualified Craft Worker position will spend most of the time performing highly skilled troubleshooting, installation, and repairs of HVAC heating, cooling, ventilation, and building automation systems typical to commercial/industrial buildings.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience servicing multiple facilities
  • Considerable knowledge of oil and gas fired heating systems

The incumbent must be dependable and self-motivated since they will often work independently. The ability to multi-task and take initiative in completing duties with minimum supervision is necessary. 

 

*A considerable amount of driving is involved and the individual filling this position is required to maintain a valid Connecticut driver’s license.
