Homestead Specialist II (Hybrid eligible)

Compensation: Starting at $50,752.00

Employment Status: Full-time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Civil Service Status: Bargaining Unit

 

The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is seeking a Homestead Specialist II to join the Real Estate team.

What will you do?

Assists with rental registration/exceptions records (e.g., reviews transfer reports; processes new applications; monitors e-mail and voicemail and follows up as necessary; prepares and updates spreadsheets, etc.).

Assists with the Owner-Occupied and Homestead programs. Handle customer inquiries and requests by telephone, mail, and in person; completes and/or verifies forms required for the transfer of properties receiving the homestead exemption; alphabetizes forms and files in the correct folders; assists taxpayers with application process (e.g., determines eligibility of applicants, including extensive research for the homestead exemption, enhanced homestead exemption and owner-occupied reduction; sorts applications; verifies and researches applicable information; prints letters, etc.); review/process exemption removal requests; completes necessary reports; prepares documents for scanning.

Performs other administrative and clerical functions as necessary; process and distributes mail.

Who should apply?

We encourage individuals with completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED); six (6) or more months of related experience and/or training; or any combination of training, education, or experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

Must possess and maintain valid Ohio driver's license and have an acceptable driving record; must comply with the FCAO Driving Policy.
