We are looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team, bringing your expertise as an experienced recruiter who will be a trusted partner and coach to hiring teams across the Ann Arbor campus. You'll work with departments to attract and secure top talent, offering strategic support through the full recruitment process. You'll help ensure that hiring practices are aligned with our diversity, equity, and inclusion values, while providing a seamless and positive experience for candidates. Agility is important in this role, as you'll need to quickly build relationships with teams at all levels, adapting to their hiring needs. You'll recruit for range of positions across the University, with an initial focus on academic advising and student support career families. Full cycle in this context includes: leading intake meetings, creating skill profiles, building job descriptions and job postings, active sourcing, building recruiting and assessment tools including interview guides, screening candidates, scheduling and facilitating interviews, coaching hiring teams, shepherding the candidate experience, using data, reference checking and overall process facilitation.
You will report to the Director of Talent Acquisition and work in a hybrid capacity in Ann Arbor, Michigan (Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the office). The target salary range for this position is $82,000 to $88,000. The final salary may be higher based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for 5-10 requisitions concurrently, including conducting intake meetings with hiring teams, building success profiles, developing job postings and descriptions. Source candidates, assess and evaluate talent and coordinate interview scheduling.
- Promote equity in hiring by challenging existing practices, addressing bias, refining recruitment strategies and ensuring streamlined processes.
- Coach and consult with hiring teams as we evolve strategies, practices and mindsets according to organization goals.
- Lead preparatory and decision-making meetings, providing data-driven insights to inform hiring decisions.
- Facilitate behavioral and other interview types, oversee candidate communications and guide both the hiring teams and candidates throughout the entire recruitment process.
- Collaborate with HR and hiring teams to provide a positive candidate experience.
- Tie your work to Talent Acquisition outcomes.
- Participate in team activities including process improvements, collaborative projects and regular team meetings.
- May participate in building and implementing resource-building projects based on interest and capacity.
- Use change management best practices in project planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement. Apply skills such as critical thinking, root cause analysis, risk management, and active listening.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years working in a formal talent acquisition role as your core function, providing full-cycle recruiting, including conducting behavioral interviews, for a variety of position types and levels.
- Advanced proficiency in skills/performance/competency-based hiring strategies, methodologies and frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in behavioral interviewing with 2+ years of practical application coaching interviewers.
- Demonstrated experience using inclusive HR practices and mitigating bias in the recruiting process.
- Broad consulting skills demonstrated through work with hiring teams.
- Applied experience with a variety of recruiting technologies and knowledge of TA analytics.
