Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Associate Regional Administrator of Child Protection Services. Subject to management approval, this position will oversee Area Administrators through the region who are responsible for the oversight of Investigations Team Supervisors involved in managing child protection investigations. The position provides high level consultation to the Regional Administrator in all areas of child protection services. Job Responsibilities
1. As Associate Regional Administrator of Child Protection, administers and directs regional child protection investigations.
2. Serves as full line supervisor.
3. Directs and oversees the investigation and service provision for high profile situations.
4. Serves as liaison to purchase of service agencies and other outside entities.
5. Represents the Department at internal statewide and divisional meetings relative to the management of regional operations.
6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires an MSW or master’s degree in a related human services field, in business administration, or a juris doctorate.
2. Requires four years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with an MSW OR five years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with a master’s degree in a related human services field, in business administration, or a juris doctorate.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Prefers 5 years of experience in managing or conducting child protection investigations.
2. Prefers a minimum of 3 years of experience supervising professional staff.
3. Prefers professional experience in the oversight of a large program with multiple sites.
4. Prefers professional experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
5. Prefers professional experience conducting planning activities for a social work program on a regional or statewide basis in a management capacity.
6. Prefers professional experience conducting community outreach as a representative of a public or business organization.
7. Prefers professional experience coordinating program services in a public or business organization.
