Nursing Student at Summer Camp
Camp Fernwood, a residential summer camp in Poland, Maine, is seeking highly motivated Nursing Students to join our summer family this summer!
Our health care team consists of:
- 5-6 RN’s
- Nurse Practitioner
- 2 Nursing Students/CNA’s
- 2 Doctors (a Pediatric Cardiologist and a Pediatric Neonatologist)
Dates: 18 June 2024 - 8 August 2024
Lodging, Food, Laundry, Free Wi-Fi, Transport all included
Shifts work: 7:30am-2:30pm and 2:30pm-10pm daily
Time off: 24 hour/1 day a week
We are a summer home to 230 girls ages 8-15 and 150 staff members. The job of a camp healthcare team member is similar to that of a school nurse. We see scrapes and bruises, mild dehydration, and the occasional illness. We work hard at preventive medicine, with sleep, washing hands, hydration and sunscreen. Another big aspect of the job is medication management for our campers. We have an online medical record system that is easy to use and a fully equipped infirmary.
