Corporate Development / Partnership Origination Intern

Overview

TradeKnight is a holding company that acquires and operates HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical and roofing service companies. We were founded in 2023 in collaboration with Fifth Wall and 1Sharpe Ventures to create an ecosystem that allows us to bring emerging technologies and unique demand partnerships to trade service businesses. We have found our technology forward approach combined with our long-term capital structure really resonates with business owners. We would like to make 10+ acquisitions in the next year and are looking for a Corporate Development / Partnership Origination Intern. 


Responsibilities

  • Support lead generation through outreach to business owners via phone, email, and mailers
  • Maintain and add new prospects to a CRM / database  
  • Share the TradeKnight vision and story and conveying a compelling message of why to partner with us 
  • Perform company research and competitive analysis on potential acquisition targets 
  • Qualify businesses based on TradeKnight’s partnership criteria
  • Assist in preparing presentation materials, and investment memos
  • Support the due diligence process for potential M&A deals
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and initiatives

Candidates must be outgoing and extraverted with a personality that gets excited speaking with and learning the stories of business owners. You should have resilience and the ability to brush off rejection and pick right back up and continue.  Written and oral communication skills are paramount, as is the ability to stay organized and track efforts, as you will spend most of your time in the early stages of the origination and outreach process. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in areas supporting M&A and strategic partnerships. This role is designed to support the M&A team (reporting to M&A lead), with significant exposure to the CEO as well. 

Great exposure for anyone interested in private equity, B2B sales, or launching a future search fund. 

Qualifications

  • A rising a junior or senior, or MBA candidate 
  • Strong track record of academic and extracurricular performance
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint / Google Sheets and Slides
  • Able to work full-time during normal business hours for Summer 2024
  • Available to begin employment between late-May and mid-June
  • Candidates should be able to work in the United States with no restrictions
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and energetic
  • Personable, high integrity, and humble
  • Strong interest in Private Equity and business development
