Associate Principal

The School District of West Salem is right next door to La Crosse in the beautiful Coulee Region of Western Wisconsin. Our 3 buildings are within walking distance of each other on an approximate 100-acre campus on the edge of town. Students in grades K-12 are issued MacBooks or iPads as part of its 1:1 digital learning environment. The School District has approximately 1800 students within its three buildings. Our district has a 4K-4 elementary school, 5-8 middle school and a 9-12 high school. The has school has approximately 600 students.

The district is looking for an Associate Principal for our high school to "Serve with passion to ignite creativity, innovation, and excellence." Having a passion for helping teachers excel and for providing an exciting, meaningful, and rewarding experience for students is a must! Successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to establish a clear vision aligned to the district's mission and performance goals. Candidates should be energetic, creative and innovative and willing to provide their students with a 21st Century experience. The associate principal will act as the high school summer school administrator.

Education/Certification
*Possesses a Master's Degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university.
*Graduate work should include school administration, supervision, school business administration, curriculum and instruction, educational measurement, personnel administration, and school law.
*Certification as required by the State of Wisconsin for Secondary School Principals. (Wisconsin DPI license #5051 Principal)

Experience
*At least two years of demonstrated, successful experience as a teacher at the secondary level.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
*The ideal candidate will be student-centered, have superior interpersonal and communication skills, be proficient with technology and be committed to personalized learning, equity and high achievement expectations for all students.
*Possesses successful skills in curricular and instructional leadership; communication; establishing and maintaining relationships based on mutual confidence, trust and respect; supervising and leading of staff; and personal and group decision-making.
*Possesses sound judgement, social competency, adaptability, self-confidence, emotional maturity, initiative, enthusiasm, resourcefulness, and dedication to duty.

*Successfully manages student behavioral referrals.
