IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Program Coordinator
HOURS: Hours dependent upon program; Seasonal employment
WAGE: $14.00/hour
EXPERIENCE & ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities beneficial, but not required;
- Should possess excellent interpersonal skills;
- Should possess the ability to cope with stressful situations;
- Must have the ability to work productively with minimal supervision;
- Should possess quality planning and organizational skills;
- Should possess effective problem solving skills;
- Must possess good written skills; and
- Should possess & promote of a positive attitude
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- Must be able to pass Indiana State Police background check;
- Must be able to pass County Criminal background check;
- Must have valid, unrestricted driver’s license;
- Must be able to pass Indiana Nurse Aid Registry check;
- Must be certified in CPR, to include AED training, and First Aid;
- Must submit to TB tine test and/or provide proof of a negative test within the past twelve (12) months of date of hire;
- Must submit to and pass mandatory drug screen;
- Must have safe and reliable transportation;
- Must provide proof of current, motor vehicle insurance;
- Must attend mandatory training sessions required of position; and
- Must possess ability to provide accurate documentation and meet deadlines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the safety and well-being of every participant enrolled in the Summer Day Camp program;
- Assist and support participants, utilizing physical and/or verbal prompts, dependent upon abilities and capabilities, with hygiene, meals, daily living skills, etc.
- Ensure that the rights and responsibilities of all participants are being strictly adhered to;
- Maintain and comply with all HIPPA guidelines and Happiness Bag, Inc. policies and procedures regarding privacy and confidentiality;
- Maintain safe staff to participant ratios at all times;
- Develop, prepare, and carry out assigned activities that challenge the participants, yet allow them the opportunity to have a positive learning experience and meet the goals and objectives of their Individual Support Plan (ISP);
- Work with and support the employees leading activities to ensure that the participants are as active and involved as they possibly can be in the activity;
- Provide daily documentation, goal tracking, general notes, etc. in assigned participant files and participant “travel” journals;
- Assist in the proper and (age) appropriate implementation of the Agency behavior modification program, as well as follow the plans established by the participant’s individual Behavior Management Specialist, when applicable;
- Perform all designated cleaning duties, pick-up, etc. during scheduled shift;
- Ensure open communication with all supervisors, co-workers, volunteers, etc.;
- Notify the Executive Director or your Immediate Supervisor of any equipment or facility issues;
- Record participant hours, record phone messages, and pass out information to parents/guardians/providers;
- Greet and welcome all parents/guardians/providers and visitors in a positive manner;
- Treat all parents/guardians/providers professionally and with respect;
- Required to utilize time card and time clock to accurately report working time(s);
- Assist in the positive promotion of all programs and services offered by the organization;
- Assist and support in all other services offered by the organization, as schedules permit;
- Ensure compliance and adherence to the policies and procedures of the organization; and
- Perform all other duties as indicated by the Immediate Supervisor and/or the Executive Director.
