Engineering Intern

Hitachi Astemo xEV BU is looking for an individual to join our team as an Engineering Intern at the Greenfield, IN location.

In this role, and under the direct supervision of Engineering Management and/or their team, the Intern will support both New Product Introduction and Mass Production. This position will be part of the Production Engineering Team for both EV and ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) products and will help support continuous improvement of equipment, processes and methods during manufacturing and the development of new equipment and processes for future model.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assigned project for completion during duration of Internship.
  • Product and Process Improvement activity
  • Troubleshoot and Repair Manufacturing Equipment Using Standardized Root Cause Analysis Techniques
  • New Model Development (Equipment Specification and Process Requirements)
  • Validation of equipment (NM or Mass Production Change Points)
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during agreed upon Internship period.
  •  Must have transportation to and from Greenfield, IN facility. (Not a remote position)
  • Working on Engineering or Technical Degree or have been accepted into and planning on attending a post-secondary education facility for Engineering or Technical education.
  • Desire to work in the Automotive Industry
  • Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in technical field preferred but not required.
  • Electro-Mechanical aptitude is beneficial.
  • Programming/coding experience is beneficial
