GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:   

AEL Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with an immersive, challenging and meaningful real-world work experience that replicates as closely as possible the career journey of an American Equity professional. Information Technology interns will gain experience through meaningful hands-on work that drives measurable business outcomes. We are placing interns in the following IT areas in Summer 2024:

  • IT Operations
  • Information Security
  • Digital (CX)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Shadow team members to learn the essential duties and functions of the role.
  • Gain a basic-level of understanding around annuities and how they fit into the financial planning process
  • Familiarize yourself with our product lineup and our unique capabilities.
  • Identifies and learns appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
  • Evaluates documented resolutions and analyzes trends for ways to prevent future problems.
  • Interfaces with other IT and business areas for problem solving and plan project deliveries.
  • Build strong working relationships and partner with other critical teams.
  • Learn and Utilize various software tools to perform vital job functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field of study.

General understanding of infrastructure and application technologies.
