Summer Recreation Therapy Internship

SEEKING BOTH MALE & FEMALE CANDIDATES!
This internship will be in two locations: Glendale, AZ & Happy Jack, AZ
- Day camps in Glendale, AZ (May-June)
- Room & board not provided for day camp programs in Glendale, AZ
- Overnight camps in Happy Jack, AZ (June-August)
- Room & board provided during overnight camps in Happy Jack, AZ
Intern Qualifications:
- Ability to instruct or lead individuals or groups in outdoor recreation activities/programs.
- Knowledge and experience in one or more of the programs preferred
- Ability to multi task
- Good physical condition
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background Check
Recreation Therapy Intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Assess program and camper needs for programming.
- Plan, adapt and assist in facilitating purposeful programming.
- Assist in programming and safety interventions around therapeutic horseback riding.
- Assist in program evaluation alongside CTRS.
- Ensure safety and well-being of campers within a camp setting.
- Supervision of remote camp tents and campers.
- Supervision of campers during nature excursions and adaptive recreation outings.
- Participate in creating a safe, positive environment for campers and staff.
- Comply and uphold organizational policies and procedures.
- Complete assignments as given by CTRS supervisor.
