Satellite Operations Intern

Position Description:

Ever wonder what happens after the Space-X launch feed ends?  Join our satellite launch support team and help us revolutionize the satellite Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) industry. You will be responsible for developing, testing, and integrating your own software solutions to ensure the safety and success of multi-million dollar satellite systems. Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and test software that performs various functions related to satellite launch support
  • Document and maintain software specifications, requirements, and test cases
  • Collaborate within the group and across the department to ensure the integrations and compatibility of software components
  • Support LEOP and third-party network operations by providing real-time testing and mission support as needed, may include working during off-hours and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the required qualifications, we are looking for candidates who have the following skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in Visual Studio and C# programming language
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles
  • Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs using various technologies and frameworks
  • Familiarity with Linux operating system and command-line tools

12 Week Schedule: 

  • Week 1-3:    Overview of Satellite Operations and Training
  • Week 4-6:    Resource gathering and documentation of Mission Data collection program
  • Week 7-10:  Development of Mission Data collection program
  • Week 10-12: Integration of program into real-time operations

Minimum Requirements:

  • Eligible candidates must be one of the following:
    • Part-time or full-time students who have completed 24+ credit hours (rising sophomores/juniors/seniors) and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university; Part-time or full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university
    • May 2024 graduate
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and maturity in the workplace
  • Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in use of MSOffice Suite
  • 3.0 GPA or above preferred

Summer Intern Program Description:

  • Paid internship; 12 weeks starting on Monday, May 27, 2024 through August 16, 2024
  • Schedule - 40 hours/week, Monday- Friday, 9 – 5 or regular core hours
  • Hybrid environment (minimum 3 days in office location)
