PR Marketing/Media Ambassador

The PR Media Ambassador is an unpaid virtual volunteer position responsible for managing media relations, crafting compelling narratives, and promoting the organization's activities in the sports world context.

 This role involves building relationships with media outlets, writing press releases, monitoring media coverage, coordinating interviews and events, managing social media, and ensuring consistent brand messaging in relation to recreation and sport activities.

 As an unpaid virtual volunteer, this position offers an opportunity to contribute to the organization's mission and gain valuable experience in fields like Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, and Business fields.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers for positive media coverage.
  • Write and distribute press releases and media kits to promote the organization's activities.
  • Monitor media coverage and public sentiment to assess reputation and identify opportunities.
  • Develop compelling narratives and content to effectively communicate the organization's mission.
  • Plan and coordinate media events, press conferences, and interviews.
  • Manage social media platforms and online presence to engage with the audience.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align PR efforts with organizational goals.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across PR and media channels.

  • Exhibits a strong grasp of the sports industry, including current events, player profiles, and emerging trends.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Familiarity with digital media platforms and tools.
