Academic Technology Support Engineer / Information Technology Professional

Position Summary

The CVM IT Academic Technology Team is responsible for the setup, support, management, and decommission of Audio/Visual technology and supporting equipment. The Academic Technology Support Engineer will provide front-line academic and classroom technology support for the Veterinary Medical Center, Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, and the College of Veterinary Medicine. The selected candidate is an active member of the CVMIT Team to improve processes and triage incoming customer requests.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years of college, technical, vocational, or business school such as an Associate’s Degree; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; experience with service desk software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.

Desired Qualifications

2+ years of experience; ability to isolate, analyze, describe, and resolve complex issues; strong reasoning and problem-solving skills; ability to complete tasks on a timeline; experience supporting audiovisual systems in a complex environment; experience working with vendors; knowledge of Crestron and Biamp technologies; experience customer service values and skills, including ability to successfully resolve conflict constructively and to maintain positive relationship with executive sponsors for customer groups; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; ability to work under pressure and consistently meets deadlines.
