Security Representative II
Security Representative II positions inspect Public Utilities Department's Water & Wastewater facilities for physical security measures per Department of Homeland Security critical infrastructure guidelines; perform or analyze risk and vulnerability studies and make recommendations to improve site security and perimeter protection; prevent asset loss or damage; oversee the work of contracted security guard forces; conduct safety and emergency management training sessions; develop and write emergency preparedness planning documents; review and interpret regulations and procedures; prepare reports and correspondence; conduct penetration audits; access and perform CCTV system functionality checks; and perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
You must meet the following requirements on the date you apply, unless otherwise indicated.
EDUCATION: Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminal Science, Emergency Management, Police Administration, Security, Security Administration, or a closely related field.
NOTE:
- Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education lacked on a year-for-year basis. One year of full-time experience = 30 semester/45 quarter college-level units.
EXPERIENCE: One year of full-time professional-level experience in security and/or emergency management. Qualifying experience MUST include the following:
Conducting security and/or emergency management field/facility inspections to ensure established policies and procedures are adhered to.
Conducting security and/or emergency management fact finding investigations and making recommendations to prevent future security breaches.
NOTES:
- "Patrol type" security guard experience at apartments, hotels, shopping centers, special events, etc., is NOT qualifying.
LICENSE: A valid California Class C Driver License is required at the time of hire.
