Hydrologist/Geologist - R1

These positions are in Region 1; Superfund and Emergency Management Division; Operations Branch; Technical Support, Site Assessment, and Remedial Policy Section. About: Region 1

These are office-centered positions*--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.

Duties

At the entry level of this position, you will:

  • Assist in the design, preparation and review of plans to monitor and characterize contaminant occurrence, fate and transport, and remediation in the environment;
  • Assist in the preparation and review of site-specific data, technical evaluations and documents;
  • Develop conclusions/recommendations for consideration by Remedial Project Managers (RPMs), managers, and other internal and external parties related to contaminant fate and transport, remedial approaches, and effectiveness of remedial actions;
  • Represent Superfund Program on regional and national committees/workgroups through presentation of information on, and response to questions concerning, impacts of contaminants in soil, groundwater and surface water.
