Position Overview

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Psychologist I for the Fox Developmental Center located in Dwight, Illinois to perform professional psychologist duties to individual living at the Fox Center, including assessment program planning, instructing staff on implementation of programs and data collection and interpretation of individual progress. Serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team. Implements behavior programming with individuals. Completes comprehensive summaries of counseling sessions. Travels in performance of job duties.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Performs professional psychologist duties to individuals living at the Fox Developmental Center.
  2. Serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team by conveying individual progress information to the Team for assigned individuals.
  3. Implements behavior programming with individuals.
  4. Completes comprehensive summaries of counseling sessions.
  5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Requires a master’s degree in psychology from a recognized college or university supplemented by two years’ professional experience in psychology.

OR

Satisfactory completion of the psychologist associate program.

*This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.

Conditions of Employment

  1. Requires visual acuity and hearing levels to conduct counseling sessions and evaluations.
  2. Requires ability to write clear and cohesive summaries of counseling sessions.
  3. Requires physical ability to access various work sites throughout the center and to attend meetings and confer with individuals and other professional staff.
  4. Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
  5. Requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others.
  6. Requires the ability to travel.
  7. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  8. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

 

Work Hours:  Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 4:00pm, Working 1 early, 1 late and 1 weekend day per month.
