The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is seeking ambitious and driven individuals to join us as Tax Auditors (TA). The TA position is an entry level professional position with career advancement opportunities and potential for personal development. As a Tax Auditor you will use your critical thinking skills and business acumen to manage audits effectively and efficiently. Your skills will be strengthened as you attend training classes, work with a mentor to develop audit plans, and perform audits. You will develop your communication skills by regularly meeting with taxpayers and their representatives to answer tax related inquiries, explain audit findings and reports. You will have the support of your supervisor, on the job trainers and team members and will learn all facets of the position!

HIRING PROCESS: After the Final Filing Date, applications will be reviewed. The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the interview process tentatively scheduled to begin December 12, 2023.

Candidates must complete the required college-level courses by the time of appointment to be considered eligible.

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for full or part-time telework for eligible candidates residing in California.
