2024 Finance Summer Intern - (Dallas & Los Angeles)

About the role


The CBRE Finance Internship accelerates your learning and development by providing you a great foundation upon which to build your finance career. This 9-week summer intern program will introduce you to our company, our fast-paced industry and our elite professionals. Program participants will receive real-world training and participate in networking and learning opportunities. This program gives you the opportunity to work with one of our Finance teams. Some of the potential finance team opportunities are: 


Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) – Leverages knowledge and functional expertise to deliver consistent, world class budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning and analysis support. 


Business Partnership – Aligns Segment Finance around CBRE’s business and go-to-market strategy by providing consistent, elite decision-making support. 


Finance Processes – Establishes the governance around process standardization, compliance and innovation. 


Finance Innovation Office (FIO) – Provides support for transformational initiatives which strategically combine people, process, technology, and data changes to provide improvements in overall performance. 


Treasury – Monitors and manages global cash and debt across the enterprise in multiple currencies and banks. Our teams are focused on driving automation and process standardization to create operational efficiencies, monitor risk and improve global cash position. 


Tax – Improves the tax efficiency of CBRE's operations and optimizes the tax results of acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations while ensuring that tax filing and payment obligations are met, and tax activity is accurately reflected in financial reports. 


The summer internship will begin in June 2024 and end in August 2024. Interns will be located in either Dallas, TX or El Segundo, CA. Please only apply if you can commit to working in person in either Dallas or El Segundo during the 9-week summer program.

What you may do:
 

• Design and deliver insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics 
 

• Prepare and distribute Segment-specific management reports with commentary 
 

• Support pipeline and financial flash reporting 
 

• Support the development of Segment / LOB / Region / Project level rolling budget / forecast process, timetable, and KPI’s 
 

• Complete special projects to advance financial analysis and quality of reports to support management decisions 
 

• Improve documentation of existing accounting processes and find opportunities for process enhancement or automation 
 

What you'll need:


• The internship is designed for driven analytical candidates with a strong academic background, preferably in business. Applicants should be self-motivated, creative, and focused.
 

• Current college junior or senior pursuing bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university (major in business, accounting, economics, finance, data analytics field preferred) Requires knowledge of basic financial terms, concepts, and accounting principles 
 

• Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) 
What we’re giving bonus points for: 
 

• Experience with Power BI, Cognos, etc. a plus 
 

• Desire to work in a global company in a finance capacity, commercial real estate industry interest a plus 
 

• Strong presentation skills with the ability to efficiently present information to supervisors and finance management 
 

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
 

• Proven leadership experience
