Sexual Assault Network Coordinator

The Montana Department of Justice is initiating the Sexual Assault Response Teams Network Program which is a statewide resource for the professionals that respond to sexual assault crimes.

A primary focus of the position is to increase the availability of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) in Montana through the work of the Sexual Assault Response Team Committee appointed by the Attorney General.

The objective for the committee and program is adoption of a statewide SANE framework to improve care for survivors and increase prosecution of sexual crimes.

The program will provide survivor centered training and technical support to law enforcement agencies, county attorneys, victim advocates, medical providers and survivors of sexual crimes.

The position is highly collaborative and works with diverse agencies, professional associations and community agencies including hospitals and clinics. An ability to work positively with complex and legal mandates is essential.

Salary: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public health, social services or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development including responsive leadership of a council or board.
  • Prior work with diverse stakeholders such as law enforcement, healthcare providers, prosecutors, adult and child protection agencies, community advocacy programs
  • Experience with research of evidence based best practices, drafting policy and procedure, and writing legislative reports is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Healthcare systems knowledge and/or experience
  • Background in training development and implementation
  • Data collection, management and analysis skills
  • Prior experience with Victim Advocacy best practices
  • Public Speaking and training skills
  • Experience with telehealth delivery technology and related principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Public Health, Sociology, Psychology, or closely related with coursework in criminal justice or social science field from an accredited college or university.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience addressing the needs of individuals impacted by crime.
