Truck Driver/Equipment Operator - Req 4921
This applicant pool may be used to fill additional openings within 120 days of the posting close date.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transport equipment, materials, and provides labor as needed to support grid operations.
- Safe and proficient (qualified) operation of vehicles, Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV), and Power Operated Equipment (POE) in compliance with all applicable rules, laws, and regulations.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations and state traffic regulations.
- Proficiency with loading, preparing, and hauling oversize loads and hazardous materials.
- Support grid operations through other additional job tasks, including but not limited to:
- Residential yard repair and site restoration
- Snow removal
- Substation and yard grading
- Hydro-vac operations
- Rock drilling
- General laborer duties and Right-of-way support
- Collaboration with operations planning and scheduling.
- Maintain current and accurate records.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- One year or more of verifiable over-the-road experience operating combination Commercial Motor Vehicles is required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- On-the-job experience operating Heavy Equipment/Power Operated Equipment
- On-the-job experience with oversize loads and permitting
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position will report regularly in person. The reporting location for this position can be either Duluth, MN; Little Falls, MN; or Eveleth, MN which will be determined at the time of hire between the Company and the selected candidate.

Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with Medical Certificate.
- No restrictions for Manual Transmission and Air Brakes
- Must possess and maintain Doubles/Triples endorsement

Must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire and maintain the following:
- CDL Tankerendorsement
- CDL Hazmat endorsement
- TWIC card
- MSHA Certification
- Minnesota Power Oversize Load Certification
- Forklift Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Experience with computers and technology including email, mapping, and online search engines.
- Self-motivation, independent thinking and active desire to find work when none is available.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain working relationships.
- This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
