2024 Finance Leadership Program Internship

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

What You’ll Do:

Our internship projects last approximately 10-12 weeks.  During this time, you will work on real business issues, ideate creative and meaningful solutions, all while developing skills that will help set the foundation for a successful career.  Our projects are thoughtfully curated based on the exciting things happening as we transform into Ford+.  As career development is an important cornerstone of Ford Finance, during your internship, you will develop skills such as:

  • Financial acumen
  • Scenario modeling
  • Business partnering
  • Experimental thinking
  • Navigating ambiguity
  • Implement Agile techniques

Past projects have included exciting things such as: 

  • Material cost reduction opportunities across multiple vehicle lines
  • Creating new financial models to improve our forecast accuracy and efficiency
  • Work cross-functionally to reduce and measure our complexity objectives
  • Use data analytics, external data, and benchmarks to identify opportunities
  • Identify key decision drivers and metrics to influence and partner with our operations and act as a change agent
  • Work on the cutting edge of our new technologies to improve our reporting and forecasting to identify profit opportunities
  • Navigate working in white space opportunities as Ford continues to build out our portfolio of products and digital services

 

Exemplary internships may result in an offer to join Ford’s full-time Finance Leadership Program (FLP). As part of our Intern to FLP pathway, you’ll discover unmatched opportunities to turn your higher education into real world experience with challenging competency-based development. The Finance Leadership Program (FLP) is a three-year post-MBA rotational program designed to develop the future leaders of Ford Finance through two progressively challenging and high visibility rotations in core Finance functions. Each rotation is expected to last approximately 18 months.  Participants in the program will build a foundation of core Finance experiences through exposure to marketing and sales, cost control (e.g. product development), and financial planning & analysis.  Successful participants are considered for promotion to a management role within Finance after completing the program, in preparation for future leadership roles. 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate student enrolled in a full-time MBA program, with eligibility to work full-time before September 2025
  • A minimum of 2 years of business experience is required
  • Ability to think critically and navigate ambiguity, must display intellectual curiosity

 

Preferred Attributes:

  • 3 or more years of finance, accounting, statistics, math, economics, data analytics, engineering, automotive, supply chain, marketing or related work experience
  • Demonstrated leadership through extracurricular activities, employment and/or internship experiences
  • Strong analytical capabilities
