Production Engineer Co-op (in IMIs chemical manufacturing unit)

Our Hannibal plant is built to manufacture high-quality products in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. We occasionally have the need for contingent labor, and that's where you come in. This is a paid, full-time position. If chosen, you will report to a manager/mentor who will provide you with oversight and details of your assignments.
The scope of assignments for this role will vary, but will likely include:
Assist with the daily, weekly, and monthly production of herbicide. Working alongside operators, supervisors and engineers balancing day to day troubleshooting with longer range projects such as fine tuning reaction conditions for improved yield, supporting Capital Project work, or auditing procedure quality.
Track raw material usage, plant reliability, EHS compliance, and product quality using Excel, Aspen, and DeltaV.
Learn various chemical processes: mainly batch processing as well as solvent recovery.
Work on improving processes through root cause analysis and risk identification.
Lead a round of improvement for procedures, P&IDs, and/or control of hazardous energy documentation.
Directly assist Production Engineer in decontamination planning and execution process for maintenance outage to ensure safe adherence to schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
Problem solving capability and familiarity with Excel; General chemistry; at least 1 engineering course.
This job pays an hourly wage (depending on experience) for a 40-hour week, plus an additional housing stipend for each month.
