Job Description

 

General Purpose of Job:  

The Manager of Central Warehouse Operations provides leadership in operating a high performing warehouse and inventory management model for Sparrow Health System.  This role leverages industry best practices to drive continuous improvements in efficiency, teamwork, safety, service, and cost.  

 

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis.  Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

  • Oversees inventory stock replenishment activities for the central warehouse operation that includes receiving, cross-docking, picking and inventory management functions.
  • Implements inventory management practices that achieve optimization of inventory, service, space and labor.
  • Utilizes data management, information, and ERP systems to drive operational process efficiency.
  • Generates supply chain analytics and reporting that produces actionable information for key stakeholders across Health System.
  • Establishes and maintains policies and procedures related to operations and inventory management.
  • Serves as a Supply Chain liaison with internal Departments.
  • Establishes and oversees best practices in inventory management, controls and variance tracking include cycle counting and physical inventory events.
  • Fosters a high performing team environment with a focus on goal achievement, safety, customer service, regulatory compliance, and communication.

 

Job Requirements

General Requirements

 

• Valid Driver’s License 

• Preferred: At least one certification from the following preferred: Institute of Supply Management (www.instituteforsupplymanagement.org) Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), OR APICS (http://www.apics.org ) Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), OR AHA (www.ahrmm.org) Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP).

 

Work Experience

 

• A minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in supply chain operations.

 • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in material management. 

• A minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in a healthcare hospital environment - preferred.

 

Education

 

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, business or related field. 

• Master's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, business, or related field - preferred.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

 

• Supervisory and leadership skills 

• Analytical and mathematical skills used to evaluate business scenarios and value propositions 

• Presentation Skills 

• Ability to implement Process Improvement tools and techniques
