Fall 2023 Commercial Risk Management Intern

The Hylant Internship Program provides students the opportunity to gain valuable experience within the insurance industry, create lasting relationships with Hylant’s professionals, and learn to execute our customer-focused values.
Hylant’s Internship Program allows each intern the opportunity to experience exposure in different departments within the insurance industry. It is an individualized program designed to fit each intern’s interests and skills. Assigned projects are flexible to the company’s needs, whether it is one core project or two to three smaller-scaled projects. Projects must be completed by the end of the internship.
The position also includes:
- Opportunity to shadow various departments
- Regular feedback sessions
- Day-to-day department tasks including but not limited to:
- Utilizing client relationship management software to create and provide marketing campaign support for client engagement
- Complete market intel research to further business development and retention
- Administrative responsibilities such as RFP support and reporting
- Usage of Applied Epic Insurance Cloud Management System to complete various tasks
- Other duties as assigned
We are seeking students pursuing degrees or concentration in the following areas:
- Risk Management & Insurance
- Administrative Services
- Marketing
- Business
Responsibilities & Skills:
- Must be actively enrolled in college or recently graduated from a two or four-year program within the past six months
- Preferably of junior or senior standing, concentration in risk management and insurance, business, administrative services, or marketing highly preferred
- Experienced in project management and problem-solving
- Fluent in Office 365 software
- High degree of professionalism, exhibiting strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Located in the Fort Wayne, IN area with the ability to work in the office three days per week
- An intern in this role can expect to work 20 hours per week
Interns selected for fall and spring internships are still eligible to re-apply for the Hylant Summer Internship Program so long as they are currently enrolled in a two or four-year program or have recently graduated within the past six months.
