Audit Intern (Remote)
Intern Audit Position
CAS is seeking an accounting major in his/her sophomore year or later to work as an intern supporting the audit team on a part time and seasonal basis. We expect to offer up to 20 hours of work per week to eligible candidates. Our clients, court units within the federal judiciary located throughout the United States and its territories, engage CAS to perform annual internal control assessments and to perform internal audits. As an intern, you will gain practical experience supporting the audit team with compliance type testing performed within internal control assessments and internal audit engagements.
Job Purpose:
Assist the audit team in performing tests to ensure internal control policies and procedures are working as designed and that certain guidelines are being followed as required.
Duties:
· Ensure all electronic source documents requested in samples have been provided by the client
· Immediately notify manager of any source documents not provided by client
· Review attributes to be examined for each test prior to examining source documents
· Examine the source documents and test each attribute for compliance with internal control procedures
· Document the results of the test for each document reviewed including details of any findings
· Review results of the test prepare a summary of the preliminary findings for all documents tested
· Updating the checklist for each test completed
· Perform administrative and support related duties as required
Skills/Qualifications:
· Accounting major who has completed his or her sophomore year with the following skills:

o Proficient Use of Word and Excel
o Good Verbal Communication
Pertinent Information:
· Remote position with an offering of up to 20 hours per week
· Pay Range - $18-22/HR (based on experience)
· Term – Fall Semester of 2023 with the potential to extend if it is a good fit for everyone
