DUTIES
The prospective intern will work as an Administrative Assistant at Headquarters, TRADOC.
Tasks would include the following:
1. Write up a one-page paper (minimum of 3 paragraphs) about yourself, describing your background, your education, and your future goals within your first two days.
2. As the Administrative Assistant to the CKO and DCKO, manage the CKO and DCKO calendars.
3. Handle executive correspondence and meeting management with coordinating staff, external agencies and internal to OCKO. Proofread and edit OCKO documents and products. (Information papers, staff correspondence, newsletters, articles, blogs…)
4. Schedule conference rooms for meetings, and events for the CKO and DCKO.
5. Manage the inputs and facilitate the calendar update and admin tasks part of the weekly synchronization meeting.
6. Ensured our Division Leaders had updated meeting information.
7. Maintained the OCKO core files on SharePoint.
8. Develop a draft SITREP weekly by collecting input from the staff on Teams SITREP site every Monday, formatting information to G6 standard and alerting the DCKO when information is ready to review by Tuesday morning.
9. Perform general administrative and logistical functions as required.
10. Prepare briefing packets for senior leaders and assisted in day-to-day front office operations, admin, and logistics.
11. Assist government staff with Project administration, research, and product development.
12. Assist the DCKO in the development of the OCKO Operations Manual which will codify how we work in OCKO. It contains information about day-to-day operations, administration, and logistics as well as all OCKO business processes.
13. Conduct professional development: Complete the online basic KM Course (6-8 hours). Attend the Staff Officer Orientation Brief SOOB (1/2 day) within the first 30 days.
14. Demonstrate effective communication skills, project a positive and friendly demeanor. Be a true team player.
15. Develop and present a 15-minute briefing to the government team on: a project you have worked on; or your thoughts on KM or Data Analytics; or what you have learned at OCKO during the last 2 weeks of your assignment.
Common Access Card (CAC) is preferred.
