Ropes Course and Climbing Staff- Camp Skylemar

Camp Skylemar, is in search of college students to facilitate on our ropes course and climbing wall this summer. Our mission is to make a positive impact in the world, one child at a time. Camp Skylemar is a well-established (since 1948) recreational summer camp, located in southern Maine.  The state of Maine, is more than a destination – it’s an experience that will take your breath away. In summer, there’s no better place to be than in Maine. From the beaches to the mountains, there’s so much to explore, and enjoy during your free time.

Ropes course and climbing staff help campers to learn teamwork and leadership skills, teach climbing techniques, teach belaying techniques and help campers navigate the high & low ropes course and climbing wall. In addition to providing instructional leadership in one or more activities throughout the day, a counselor serves as “big brother/sister”, friend, role-model, adviser and “hero”. No experience required, we will train you to belay and instruct.

Compensation package starts at $3,200, including housing, meals and transportation expenses. WIFI, staff clothing, time off and a laundry service are also provided. Camp season runs from June 11 to August 6. Ability to take a college class online while you’re here. We also provide free time to workout/train. We also have some simple ways Skylemar staff members can earn extra money this summer. Internship credit is available. Most educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. Check with your institution to be sure this opportunity meets any requirements.
