EQA 9-P11:
Conducts investigation and remediation activities of assigned basic sites of environmental contamination pursuant to Part 201 and Part 213 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA). Basic environmental sites (i.e., small gas stations, small auto service stations, small private properties, and found storage drums dumped/discarded along roadways) include the following factors: single contaminant releases, using standard investigative methods and remedial actions, and involving fewer stakeholders and low public controversy. Basic site investigations also involve fewer services to coordinate and/or less intensive oversight of activities.
EQA 12:
This position manages all aspects of investigation, remediation and enforcement activities for the most complex environmental contamination sites where hazardous substances have been released into the environment pursuant to Parts 201 and Part 213 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA), and other applicable state and federal statutes and regulations. This position serves on public meeting panels relative to assigned complex sites of environmental contamination and responds to public comments, serves as point of contact for assigned sites and conducts negotiations for remediation with private parties, company officials, attorneys and consultants. This position participates in Technical and Program Support (TAPS) team meetings. This position also evaluates and approves/denies work plans and reports from private parties that are presented by E-level staff in District Peer Review Meetings. Additionally, this position serves as a mentor for E-level staff.
Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in the biological sciences, engineering, physical sciences, resource development, or resource management.
OR
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 30 semesters (45 terms) credits in one or a combination of the following: biochemistry, biology, botany, chemistry, crop and soil science, engineering, environmental health, environmental science, forest management, geology, ecology, meteorology, microbiology, physics, remote sensing, resource development, resource management, toxicology, or zoology.

Environmental Quality Analyst 9

Environmental Quality Analyst 10
One year of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 9.
Environmental Quality Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst including one year equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst 10.
Environmental Quality Analyst 12
Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst, including one year equivalent to an Environmental Quality Analyst P11.
The preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Geology, Geophysics, or Microbiology.
Additionally, the preferred candidate will have had coursework in sedimentary geology, groundwater hydrology, field work, and remedial technologies.
