POSITION: Teacher: High School Special Education
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Special Education Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a Michigan Teaching Certificate (may be granted temporary approval) or full approval in one or more areas of Special Education
- Prefer experience working with students receiving Special Education services
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with general education staff to accommodate and modify secondary curriculum, as appropriate, for students with disabilities in general education settings
- Assist students with class assignments, assessments, and projects
- Facilitate multi-disciplinary evaluation team (MET) and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and perform all other case management duties
- Work in partnership with ancillary staff
- Support positive behavioral interventions for caseload students
- Develop and maintain an active parent/school communication program
- Participate in all assigned in-service training and staff meetings, at both the building and departmental level
- Contribute as a member of various building and leadership teams
SALARY: Per Master Contract
