Postdoctoral Researcher - Synthetic Biology and Laboratory Evolution

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Golden, Colorado is the nation's primary laboratory for research and development of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado, is the nation's primary laboratory for research, development, and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. The NREL mission is to develop renewable energy and energy efficient technologies and practices, advance related science and engineering, and transfer knowledge and innovation to address the nation’s energy and environmental goals. This position is within the Renewable Resources and Enabling Sciences Center, which is part of the Bioenergy Science and Technology Directorate, working to advance the technologies to produce bio-based energy, fuels, and products.
The successful candidate will work toward evolving and engineering a non-model, but genetically amendable, bacterium for aerobic conversion of one-carbon molecules as part of a Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) project.
The successful candidate will be able to:

Basic Qualifications

Must have graduated with a Ph.D. in Biological Engineering, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or a related field within the last three years.
