The Product Engineer is a member of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for continuing and new development of probe technologies for semiconductor wafer test. This team member is responsible for RF-focused pre-sales application support such as technical product configuration, design consulting and solution proposal, as well as post-sales support such as test yield optimization and best practice development. The person must be customer focused to understand the customer’s technical need in detail and use this knowledge to help guide product development choices. This role will also develop an understanding of how our products fit in the competitive space and act as a technical resource to Marketing in the development of product roadmaps. Additionally, the person in this position will help with technical feasibility when customer requests are outside of our current capability. 
 
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives focused efforts to provide customers with high performance solutions on demanding schedules.
  • Coordinates factory teams to ensure non-standard products meet specs and are delivered on schedule.
  • Interfaces with multiple disciplines to bridge the gaps between customer requirements and factory capabilities.
  • Provides RF expertise and leverages internal resources as necessary to solve complex RF problems.
  • Works with Marketing, Applications Engineering and directly with the customer.
  • Evaluates customer requests for technical feasibility.
  • Provides guidance and support to field applications teams during probe card installation, startup, and operation.
  • Works closely with Field Applications teams and the customer to understand requirements.
  • Supports product development from feasibility, through implementation, and customer validation.
  • Ensures that products that are developed meet target market need.
  • Recommends product improvements, changes and enhancements.
  • Provides training and technical support to Field Applications teams and customers as necessary.
  • Contributes to development projects both individually and in a leadership role.
 
 
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • BS in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or Physics.
  • Minimum of 4 years of combined experience in Development or Product Engineering.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience working directly with customers.
  • Demonstrated success synthesizing diverse inputs into a coherent, actionable plan.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects against schedule and budget constraints.
  • Demonstrated success working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% both domestically and internationally.
  • Experience with test instrumentation such as VNAs and oscilloscopes.
  • Familiarity with wafer-level testing, RF-based simulations, PCB design and PCB fabrication processes are pluses.
