PURPOSE:
The Product Marketing Engineer is responsible to support the Product Marketing Manager for the global strategic marketing activities related to their assigned probe card products, works with the account teams for assigned accounts and assists in marketing assigned products. This person will have a high level of technical proficiency and knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, knowledge of the back-end flow is particularly beneficial. They will understand FFI’s customers’ test challenges and will work closely with customers to define solutions to these challenges using FormFactor products and technology. To accomplish this, they will understand and communicate customer’s probing issues/challenges and provide input on aligning customer requirements to product capabilities. When appropriate, they will bring opportunities to the factory that require development projects. They will work closely with the Product Marketing Manager to define development requirements and represent the customer interest on development teams. This role will also work closely with the FFI sales teams to identify new customers and identify new opportunities, and to convert these opportunities into bookings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with customers and the factory team to assess device testing needs, determine probe card requirements, and propose solutions.
  • Coordinate feasibility analysis and present results to customers and the sales team.
  • Function as part of a cohesive team to include Product Marketing Managers and Engineering Managers in the product group to ensure that the assigned products give FFI a competitive advantage.
  • Articulate customer use cases to support product solutions definition and development.
  • Target key strategic accounts and drive successful penetration strategies with the Sales team.
  • Identify new customers and opportunities and work closely with the Product Marketing Manager and Sales team to drive opportunities to closure.
  • Train the sales/account teams regularly such that the knowledge of the market and FFI products & solutions are transferred to the teams as part of NPI.
  • Provide competitive intelligence by researching industry trends and competitor’s offerings. Drive proactive and reactive responses when appropriate.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective customers.
 
Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other technical degree, Master’s degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience within the semi-conductor industry in Applications, Sales Engineering, Product development, or Process/Test Engineering that involved participation in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, including both small group and large audiences.
  • Need to be comfortable speaking to a group and engaging in problem solving dialogue with occasionally distressed customers or partners.
  • Demonstrated success in team environments where outcomes are influence-based. 
  • Familiarity with general wafer sort testing for both memory and logic IC is desired.
  • Must have the ability to travel as business needs dictate (as much as 50% of the time both domestically and internationally) to customer sites, subsidiary offices, and appropriate sales or marketing events.
