Amazon Robotics - Sensor Technician / Lab Management

We are seeking a talented and motivated technician to support the development and testing of sensor systems as well as to manage sensor labs. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with experience in building and testing hardware systems. The candidate must have a strong desire for hands on work and ability to learn.

Key Roles and Responsibility:
  • Learn multiple sensor systems, and master the setup, usage and tools.
  • Order, assemble and setup hardware for evaluation and testing.
  • Understand functional and performance requirements, follow test procedures and execute test cases.
  • Document, analyze and present test results.
  • Manage sensor labs, such as organize and inventory equipment, procure and setup lab infrastructure, as well as maintain an orderly lab environment.
  • Work with Hardware Engineers, Software Engineers, Supply Chain and Quality organizations as well as third party suppliers to support sensor evaluation and development.

Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of hardware testing experience.
  • Ability to procure and setup test fixtures, troubleshoot test systems, execute tests, analyze results and write test reports.
  • High level of attention to details and strong organization skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • BS or AS in Electrical / Mechanical / Computer Engineering (or similar field)
  • Experience with environmental testing including temperature, vibration, shock, humidity, etc.
  • Experience with Python and developing automated tests.
  • Experience with cameras, ToF sensors, mmWave radar, Lidar.
  • Experience with optical power meters, integrating spheres and other optical measurement devices.
