Senior Chemistry Technician (Technician II)
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining the laboratory equipment and instrumentation by performing maintenance, basic repairs, daily tunes, calibration checks, and keeping logs for each instrument. The technician will be expected to operate, calibrate, performance check and troubleshoot pipette, liquid handling systems, pH meter, digital balances, solid phase extraction manifolds, headspace gas chromatographs, and centrifuges.
Preparing chemical reagents and solvents, and documenting the preparation in the appropriate logs. Performing Quality Control checks on prepared reagents and documenting these checks.
Washing glassware and cleaning laboratory work areas.
Stocking chemical and laboratory supplies.
Maintaining chemical and biological hazardous waste storage areas.
Monitoring and maintaining records of lab fridges and freezers.
