We are currently seeking an Environmental Scientist/Engineer for an Associate or Senior Associate level position in our Environmental & Earth Sciences Practice in our Austin, TX office. In this role, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based consultation to clients. The individual in this position will be responsible for providing high-level support evaluating ground and surface water quality data, environmental chemistry, contaminant fate and transport, environmental forensics, and water treatment and remediation technologies. This position requires expertise in per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in one or more of the following areas: Drinking Water Treatment, Water Quality Assessment, Environmental Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Aquatic Chemistry or Public Health.

You will be responsible for:
  • Conducting forensic analyses of chemical contamination
  • Analyzing contaminant fate and transport in ground and/or surface water systems
  • Evaluating technologies suitable for the removal of chemicals from drinking water and the environment 
  • Participating in multidisciplinary project teams to solve complex problems
  • Developing client relationships and building business in the Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice
  • Providing high-quality oral and written client deliverables

You will have the following skills and qualifications: 
  • Ph.D. in Civil, Environmental or Geologic Engineering, Earth Sciences, Water Resources or similar discipline; or a Master’s Degree in Public Health  
  • Knowledge of specific PFAS chemical characteristics and behavior in the environment
  • Experience in analytical chemistry, with an emphasis on PFAS analytical techniques
  • Experience handling and managing large datasets and corresponding data visualization
  • Knowledge of advanced drinking water treatment and remediation technologies for PFASand other chemicals
  • Experience in evaluating ground and surface water quality (e.g., chemical/microbial source identification)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills
  • Detail-oriented, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States
