Instrumentation and Control Engineer (Experienced)
Looking to be part of a team delivering a brand new instrumentation and control system to the U.S. Navy? Looking to challenge yourself with solving emergent problems in support of first ship of a class construction and testing? The S1B I&C Systems team is looking for developing engineers excited to take on the challenges associated with delivering and supporting instrumentation and control system designs in a teaming environment. Responsible for the latest instrumentation and control designs that will be used in a U.S. Navy nuclear propulsion plant, the S1B I&C Systems team is transitioning from design work to a fast-paced troubleshooting environment as the design is delivered, integrated, and tested for the first time. The selected candidate will be expected to develop into a subject matter expert on the design, operation and maintenance of their assigned system.
Responsibilities will include:
- Applying technical skills to contribute to delivery and support of component designs of cognizant equipment
- Developing innovative solutions to help solve emergent problems, such as those identified during ship construction and testing.
- Developing innovative solutions to improve the performance and maintainability of cognizant equipment
- Collaborating with teammates (both internal and external to NNL) to identify and address technical and system integration issues for cognizant equipment.
- Seek out expertise internal and external to the organization to develop knowledge and skills needed to develop into a subject matter expert.
- Providing support for cognizant products to other stakeholders as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS *
Intermediate:
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of relevant experience; or currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or SRE Qualification
Advanced:
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or currently or previously NPE qualified or CTE/ACRS and one year of EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program; or watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and one year as SRE
