Entertainment and Influencer Marketing Intern

The Ideal Candidate

The Journeys Entertainment and Influencer Marketing Intern will be a crucial member of the Marketing Team and will report directly to the Entertainment and Influencer Marketing Coordinator. This person should be knowledgeable of Journeys, teen culture, music and live events, influencers, social media, and the gaming space. The Entertainment Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting the Marketing Team with various duties such as in-store playlist curation, influencer and music discovery, employee ticketing for sponsored events, and influencer product shipping. 
 
How You Will Make an Impact

  • Assist with in store playlisting - provide Journeys-appropriate songs to monthly playlist updates, utilizing both employee feedback email and organic music discovery
  • Assist with playlist reviewing - review cleared songs to ensure both lyrics and song content are appropriate for Journeys and Journeys Kidz, review Mood Media’s monthly additions to Journeys playlists
  • Help identify influencers and artists that are a good fit for Journeys and Journeys Kidz
  • Update internal tracking documents as needed (such as influencer tracking, influencer content usage, and employee guest lists, etc.)
  • Provide options for up-and-coming artists/musicians for Journeys to partner with (for seeding program or as an influencer)
  • Stay up to date on current social media trends/trending sounds and events in the music space
  • Organize, prep and ship product to influencers and musicians we partner with
  • Assist with sorting and organizing physical and digital concert tickets,
  • Tag and organize content on internal digital asset manager and set usage expiration for influencer content 
  • Brainstorm for different projects, such as events, activations, seasonal campaigns for social media, influencers, gaming, recruiting and partnerships
 
Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have

  • Understanding of Journeys brand and culture, experience working in a Journeys store is a plus
  • Must be based in Middle TN/Nashville, TN 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Creative and able to organize thoughts and ideas
  • Passion for music and music discovery
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, Forms and Docs
  • Knowledge of the general music landscape, specifically within Pop, Alternative, and Hip-Hop genres
  • Knowledge of influencer marketing landscape, including industry trends
  • Good sense of aesthetic, design, and messaging in the influencer space
  • Proficient in all social media platforms is a plus
  • Knowledge of the general gaming and e-sports landscape is a plus
  • Some local travel required, and attendance at local music events
 
Duration of assignment is June - August (with potential to extend) and must be able to work 20-25 hours per week.
