HS Strength and Conditioning Intern (Fall)

1.    Description
a.    Internship for College students studying exercise science, kinesiology, sport sciences, or a similar field, looking for school required internship hours
b.    Interns will gain experience in the areas of coaching, personal training, sports performance, communication, and leadership.
c.    Internship duration is 1 semester (Fall or Spring)
d.    Internship does not count towards any student teaching program

2.    Job Requirements
a.    Able to pass a background check
b.    Willing to complete any Safe Schools course required by LCSC
c.    Available at least 30 hours per week (based on school schedule)
                                              i.    Required availability during weights classes and team lifting hours
                                            ii.    Assisting with PE/Health classes optional
d.    Able to lift at least 50lbs
e.    Able to follow instructions and communicate effectively from Administration and Weights teacher/S&C Coach
f.     Willing to help teach/coach students in lifting and running form
g.    Comfortable aiding strength and conditioning coach with tasks during Weights and Advanced weights classes during school day
h.    Comfortable working with sports coaches and their athletes in after school lifts
i.     Required to follow school safety protocol and policies
j.     Willing to help maintain and clean facility
k.    Highly Recommended: Be able to obtain a substitute teaching license
                                              i.    If intern is/becomes a licensed substitute:
1.    Opportunities to earn compensation while earning hours
a.     (Full day - $105)
2.    Ability to take on more coaching responsibilities
3.    Can substitute teach at other school corporations afterwards

 
 
 
 
 
3.    Attire
a.    Athletic attire such as:
                                              i.    T-shirts, athletic shorts, joggers, sweat shirts that are Lebanon Tigers colors (Black, gold, white, grey), athletic attire representing your university, or Lebanon Tigers attire.
                                            ii.    Tennis shoes or cross training shoes
b.    Attire not permitted
                                              i.    Hats or head coverings
                                            ii.    Hoop or dangling earrings, necklaces, or metal jewelry
                                           iii.    Gear from other high schools
c.    Certain events or happenings occurring at the school may allow for different attire to be worn upon discussion

4.    Compensation
a.    Monetary compensation available, but only through PE/Health department substitute teaching opportunities
b.    Free athletic gear
c.    Affordable lunches on site
d.    Free use of facility and its equipment during breaks and off time
