Photography Intern, Summer 2022

JCC Chicago’s Marketing and Communications team seeks a motivated photography student to help support key agency initiatives.
 
The Photography Intern will work closely with the Marketing and Communications (M&C) team to support a variety of marketing and public relations initiatives with specific attention to the photography needs of the department.
 
Key Areas of Responsibility:
·      Catalog JCC Chicago’s extensive photo library.
·      Tag photos for search in web-based photo management system.
·      Photograph camp and other programs across the Chicagoland area; use of JCC DSLR camera provided.
·      Photo editing (resize/cropping) for digital use in JCC Marketing campaigns.
 
Dates:
June 20 - August 12, 2022
 
Hours:
Monday-Friday
9:00am-12:00pm (flexible) based at Bernard Weinger JCC Northbrook
Travel between various JCC Chicago locations and special event sites as needed.
 
Key Essential Job Duties/Physical Requirements:

·      Repetitive movement of arms and hands to operate computer, keyboard and mouse.
·      Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
·      React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations and assist in evacuation of building.
 
Compensation:
$13 / hour
 
Requirements:
·      Candidates must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate-level college student.
·      Demonstrated understanding of photography principles with strong knowledge of Photoshop CC 2018. Familiarity with web-based photo libraries a plus (iStock, Libris by PhotoShelter, etc).
·      Previous experience working with a DSLR camera.
·      Candidates must be self-motivated and able to prioritize and stay organized in a fast-pace environment.
·      Must have reliable transportation, driver’s license for at least 24 months, proof of insurance (with a minimum $250,000 liability) and be willing and able to travel between various JCC sites.
