Position Summary:
NAVEX is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our high-performance Accounting team at our corporate headquarters in Lake Oswego, Oregon. You will work with our Accounting Team and other key NAVEX teams to ensure our accounts payable cycle and monthly close process is quick, efficient and accurate. This position is a key role in continuing to build and maintain the bridge between NAVEX operations and financial reporting in order to meet the needs of the business and our stakeholders.

What You Will Do:
  • Manage all activities within the Accounts Payable team, including establishing and adhering to key performance metrics
  • Facilitate weekly payment batches via multiple currencies and formats (check, wire, ACH, international)
  • Administer the company’s Travel & Expense Policy and Travel Management software, including review of employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policy
  • Develop quality professional relationships with vendors as well as within the company to attain approval and timely payment of vendor invoices
  • Analyze current ways of working to recommend and implement process improvements
  • Maintain an effective internal financial control environment
  • Participate in month-end financial closing activities
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to set goals, review performance and assign special projects

What You Will Need:
  • Undergraduate degree required; accounting or business degree is preferred
  • 1+ years relevant experience
  • Excellent leadership ability with the desire to mentor and coach direct reports
  • Effective organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with business software (Microsoft Word and Excel required; NetSuite and Concur a plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to collaborate with people across a variety of levels with diverse backgrounds
  • An intellectual curiosity that seeks opportunities to do things better and improve our processes
  • The desire to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
