Accounting Coordinator | Ontario, CA

Overview

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

Under general supervision, provides support to daily accounting operations through processing assigned
accounting functions related to Federal and State grants for the Child Development segment.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assists with the day-to-day review of expenses charged to the programs for compliance with Federal and
  • state requirements as well as with agency policies and procedures. Records and maintains inventory listing
  • for Federal and State funded programs.
  • Reviews and inputs daily attendance data for children enrolled in the various programs operating at the
  • Child Development Centers. Provides various attendance reports for billing and accountability summaries.
  •  Inputs payroll data for Child Development Center Associates and reconciles any discrepancies among Labor
  • Distribution Reports and the Financial Statements.
  • Files accounting documentation as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
  •  H.S. Diploma, GED, or national equivalent
 
EXPERIENCE:
  •  3+ years’ general accounting experience (or 2+ years’ accounting experience directly related to Grant
  • Funded Programs).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Ability to use office equipment such as copy machine and fax machine.
  • Good computer skills including Excel and database software.
  • Knowledge of standard filing practices.
  • Ability to operate 10-key by touch.
  • Ability to type 30 WPM.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB test.
  • Ability to provide any/all current immunizations as required by the State of California for child
  • development centers and staff.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals of Southern California and/or program requirements.
  • Ability to travel locally; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards;
  • maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.
