Facilities Engineering Intern

We are looking for an Engineering and Administrative Intern you will provide engineering assistance at the facility and assist facility personnel in Engineering, Safety, Compliance, and Production related tasks.

Key Responsibilities for an Engineering Intern 
  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Provides Engineering support for ongoing facility projects and assists in any necessary drawings, documentation and project packages
  • Participates in and assists Management with Process Safety Management (PSM) action items
  • Updates facility drawings on an as needed basis.
  • Assists Administrative personnel in duties as assigned by Management
  • Track and trend production uptime via loss pareto analysis
  • Verify and update facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with PSM/OSHA requirement
  • Assist Engineering and Maintenance/E&I personnel in Facility Asset Management (FAM) goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 
What does it take to work for Clean Harbors as an Intern?
  • Current Undergraduate coursework in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (other Engineering fields will be reviewed)
  • Working knowledge of CAD, Excel and Microsoft projects
  • Knowledge of equipment, systems and processes such as instrumentation, piping, valves, pumps, material of construction, coating systems, fire detection and controls, material handling and building/structure maintenance
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (including but not limited to lifting 50 lbs., climbing on/off forklift, color determination, standing, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, crouching, smelling)
