Development Manager

Full-Time Development Manager (reporting to the Executive Director)
The Santa Fe Desert Chorale (SFDC) is seeking a driven professional to join its team as Development Manager. This position is responsible for daily development operations as well as projects such as grant writing, appeals, and fundraising events.

Responsibilities:
● With the Executive Director, create and maintain the annual development plan, including all contributed income sources
● Responsible for planning and executing all donor and special events, including benefits/galas
● Work with Marketing Manager on collateral, direct mail, email campaigns, and development-related website pages
● Facilitate stewardship and engagement activities and material creation
● Draft and process all donor solicitations, sponsorships, and acknowledgements
● Ensure donations receive timely recognition; produce comprehensive donor lists; oversee donor benefit fulfillment
● Cultivate relationships with patrons, donors, sponsors, and Board members
● Research grant opportunities, write proposals, and manage entire grant process through submission and reporting
● Manage and maintain the donor database, accurate data processing, lists, reporting, and donor programs
● Prepare materials for Development Committee and other relevant Board meetings
● Generate reports on donor giving history and trends as requested
● Reconcile donation records with bookkeeper on a weekly basis
● Assist with preparation of fundraising expenses and income projections for the annual budget
● Provide support during concerts and community engagement events, with special attention to donors
● Other duties as may be assigned

● Accuracy in data entry and ability to self-review
● Proficiency with Microsoft, GSuite, Adobe, Zoom, and CRM systems preferred, as well as ability to learn new software
● Professionalism, poise, discretion, and positive representation of SFDC in all job functions
Education and Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
● Prior experience of 3 years+ in a development role or in a closely related position/field is preferred
● Ability to drive a motor vehicle with valid drivers’ license
● Ability to move up to 30 pounds (up to 10 pounds frequently)
● Due to the nature of this work, New Mexico residency is required. Relocation expenses up to $2,000 are reimbursable.
● Knowledge and appreciation of the choral art form is a plus

Schedule:
● M-F, 40 hours/week (flexible schedule outside of these days/hours, including remote work, is negotiable)
● Evening/weekend hours will be required during production periods, as well as throughout the year for special events

Compensation:
● $45,000-60,000/year (salary commensurate with experience; full-time, exempt)
● Full health benefits, including vision and dental, as well as disability insurance
● 15 days of vacation, 6 sick days, 10 federal holidays, and December 24-31 (8 days) off annually
● SIMPLE IRA plan matched at 3% (available following one year of employment)
