Should Cost Internship

Position Summary
Carrier is seeking an engineering intern for the should cost team within Engineering Methods’ Design to Value & Quality team. The candidate selected for this position will work within the team supporting should cost projects. The candidate will engage with the Should Cost team as well as Carrier’s business units & the WHQ Supply Chain organization to follow requests through the should cost process.
Roles & Responsibilities:

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident 
  • COVID-19 vaccines will be required for all newly hired Carrier U.S. Salaried employees 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • The candidate must have a sound understanding of mechanical assemblies.
  • Execute and report on should cost projects assigned by the Should Cost team leader.
  • Work within the should cost workflow and request process.
  • Create and maintain the logistics of material movement throughout the should cost laboratory.
  • Perform product teardowns and document the overall process.
  • Utilize standardized should cost software tools, document reports, and present to leadership.
General:

  • Interest/experience in value engineering preferred
  • Interest in design for manufacturing and assembly
  • Experience with CAD and CAE tools is a plus
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to perform well working in teams and organize/lead teams, mentor team members.
  • Strong organization and communication skills
Education:

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree program, majoring in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0
  • Relevant coursework or previous internships preferred
