Space and Visual Merchandising Analyst - Summer Associate (Remote)

 As a Summer Associate Intern, you’ll gain insight into how we create and execute on many challenges that come with being one of top retailers in the U.S. This experiential internship opportunity will give you access to develop industry-related knowledge and skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees, and explore various career paths. 

The Space and Visual Merchandising Analyst is responsible for creating and maintaining both JDA and VMM (Visual Merchandising Manager) planograms that provide SKU placement, fixture detail and visual merchandising part information across multiple categories for proper in store execution. Planograms are a foundational merchandising tool providing merchandising flow, enable systematic inventory replenishment, vendor provided parts and product placement along with store specific fixture information, pricing sign types, and graphic details. Analysts are experts for their business categories and are responsible for managing transition, reset, remodel and new concept planogram standards, timelines, and shelf space analysis to fully align with category strategy, presentation guidelines and return on space goals. The role is responsible for up to 700 planogram versions, feeding replenishment for up to 6,000 SKUs transitioning up to 52 times per year. On average, the category planograms each Analyst supports drive $3.2B in company revenue. 
The Space and Visual Merchandising Analyst Summer intern will provide support across the entire Space Management team. Responsibilities will include: 
  • Planogram creation to support product and visual element transitions 
  • Create and maintain Weekly Ad Set instructions for Retail execution
  • Space Management analysis project (TBD)

Required Skills and Experience:  
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited college/university, graduating between Fall 2022 and Spring 2025 
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered) 
Preferred Skills and Experience: 
  • Retail store experience
  • Passion for product merchandising
  • Influence without authority; developed communication and diplomacy skills used to direct/persuade/influence others
  • Analyze complex problems, operate effectively in high pressure situations and make accurate decisions quickly
  • Communicate effectively and exchange complex information with category team members, leaders and relevant cross-functional partners. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
