Job Description:
Benefitfocus is looking for a User Experience (UX) Design Intern to work closely with our UX Design & Research team for our Summer 2022 Internship Program. UX Design & Research is a fast-moving team focused on making our apps and products successful through the design of software interfaces that are easy for our clients to use and that are aesthetically pleasing. This role would be a great fit for someone highly organized, passionate about UX, and able to work as part of a collaborative team to drive business results. 

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the internal UX Design team to support feature designs and updates.
• Participate in user experience research efforts to evaluate user needs and identify design opportunities.
• Assist with supporting documentation updates for the Benefitfocus Manual of Style design system.
• Perform competitive research on specific UI features to inform the team on upcoming trends and reusable patterns.
• Assist in the organization of UX files and documentation, as needed.

Experience & Skills:
• Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in User Experience Design, Graphic Design, Interactive Design, or another creative/visual design-related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Experience with interaction design, visual design, wireframing, and user flows.
• Ability to keep up to date with new UX design methodologies, trends, principles, and technologies.
• Strong desire to practice user-centered design.
o Curious, observant, and interested in understanding user needs and behaviors.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
