Indirect Tax Systems and Reporting - Summer Associate (Remote)

 As a Summer Associate Intern, you’ll gain insight into how we create and execute on many challenges that come with being one of top retailers in the U.S. This experiential internship opportunity will give you access to develop industry-related knowledge and skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees, and explore various career paths. 

The Tax Systems and Reporting team is responsible for operating, maintaining, and enhancing the technologies needed to facilitate transaction tax compliance.
 
The Tax Systems and Reporting Summer intern will provide support across the entire Tax Systems and Reporting team. Responsibilities will include: 
  • Design and build of data driven health check reports
  • Design and build of data driven workflows using tools like Alteryx Designer and Microsoft PowerBI
  • Design and build of data driven visualizations, creating dashboard reports for staff and leadership
  • Assist in project delivery of strategic tax initiatives involving requirements gathering, solution design, application configuration, testing, and deployment
  • Leadership communication and program delivery updates
  • Ongoing operational support of the tax applications and tools

Required Skills and Experience:  
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited college/university, graduating between Fall 2022 and Spring 2025 
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered) 
  • Basic SQL coding skills
  • Basic report creation skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently
  • Assist in project delivery of strategic tax initiatives involving requirements gathering, solution design
  • Must have completed entry level computer science classes
Preferred Skills and Experience: 
  • Experience with data transformation and visualization tools like Alteryx Designer and Microsoft PowerBI
  • Experience with Oracle SQL or Teradata SQL  
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning technologies
